Derek O’Sullivan has spent his entire career in the Human Resources arena, and finds motivation in building great teams, driving a people agenda aligned with business strategy, and coaching leaders to be the best they can be.

He is currently based in Amersham, UK, but during his GE career, beginning in 2006, he has also worked in Ireland and the US. Before joining the Life Sciences business as the Organization and Talent Development Leader for its 11,000 employees, Derek spent 2010-2015 serving as HR leader for GE Healthcare’s Global Legal, Finance and Mergers & Acquisitions teams. He has also held HR Leader roles for GE Capital Fleet Services business and GE Capital Aviation Services.

Derek has also worked in industrial relations and employment law and policy advisory in Ireland, and as the Western Europe HR Leader for Stryker.

In 2021, Derek took on the role as VP Human Resources for the Biotechnology Group, encompassing Pall Life Sciences and Cytiva, in addition to his responsibilities as VP HR for Cytiva.

Derek holds a Bachelor of Business (HRM) from the University of Limerick, a graduate diploma in Employment Law from University College Dublin and an MSc in Work and Organization Psychology from the University of Limerick.

Derek and his partner live in the UK and are avid travellers, which they enjoy combining with their passion for great food and live music.
