We continually review our patent portfolio to identify candidates for out-licensing. Examples of technology areas where we have patents available for out-licensing are provided below. This list is not exhaustive and if you have identified a Cytiva patent or technology that you are interested in that is not detailed below please contact us.

We recognise the value a trademark can add to goods or products as a confirmation of quality, identity and familiarity. In some instances we offer licenses to some of Cytiva’s highly-regarded trademarks but only if a business partner wishes to incorporate a Cytiva product into one of their own products and resell it. Some of the trademarks most commonly licensed in this way are:

  • Cy and CyDye
  • ReadyMate
  • Sera-Xtract
  • Serasil-Mag
  • Sera-Mag
  • Sepharose
  • Sephacryl

A full list of our trademarks is available here.

Our expertise and product offerings in bioprocessing applications means we have generated a large patent portfolio covering a range of chromatography methodologies including, for example, purification of plasmid DNA, endotoxin removal, antibody purification and sterilization methods. Anyone wishing to apply these methods in a process that does not utilize Cytiva chromatography media will require a separate license.

Our chromatography media customers automatically receive the right to practise these patents as a royalty-free fully paid up license to Cytiva proprietary methods is included with the media product purchase. No additional licenses from us are required.

Highly fluorescent and water soluble, the benefits of our CyDye™ fluorescent dyes have been demonstrated in many areas within life sciences including immunohistochemistry, microarray analysis, two-dimensional electrophoresis, blotting, immunoprecipitation and high throughput/high content screening.

CyDye reactive fluors can be used to label many different molecules including proteins and peptides. CyDye labeled nucleotides are ideally suited for labeling RNA and DNA probes, oligonucleotides, and other nucleic acids. In addition, our CyDye DIGE Fluors are specifically tailored for use in two-dimensional fluorescence difference gel electrophoresis. With intense, spectrally distinct and bright colors, the dyes have narrow excitation and emission bands and are size- and charge-matched, making them ideal for detecting protein abundance differences for multicolor analysis.

Cy and CyDye are registered trademarks owned by Cytiva. If you would like to sell any CyDye products or incorporate them into a commercial product, please contact us.

We have a broad patent portfolio spanning a range of stem cell related technologies including but not limited to: cellular compositions, culturing and expansion methods; differentiation protocols; and uses of stem cells and stem cell-derived cells in various non-therapeutic assays.

Full patent listings for each patent family are available on request.

We have developed a broadly applicable platform technology for sequencing and analyte detection applications enabled by a new class of labelled-nucleotide poly-phosphate analogues. These analogues are superior substrates for polymerases leading to higher-throughput sequencing-related workflows. The portfolio includes new compositions of matter for labelled nucleosides polyphosphates and new methods for sequencing and real-time nucleic acid detection, characterization and quantification.

The technology is highly suitable for:

  • Rapidly sequencing long DNA lengths
  • Single molecule applications

We have a portfolio of products and technologies available for licensing developed to facilitate the collection, extraction, preparation, analysis and purification of nucleic acids and proteins from crude sources such as blood, tissue, cells, and bacteria. This portfolio includes patents related to magnetic particles and separation techniques and small-scale reactions utilizing these particles and their properties.
