During October, breast cancer awareness month, Cytiva associates and customers raised USD 321,376 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF). As a global life sciences leader, Cytiva makes technologies and solutions that are critical in accelerating cancer research and developing next generation therapeutics.

For every purchase of any product from Cytiva’s laboratory research consumables, including Mab-Select chromatography resins, Whatman filter papers, Sera-Mag Select reagents and Amersham nitrocellulose membranes, one US dollar was donated to BCRF. Using the name “Think Pink”, associate-led volunteer efforts at Cytiva and Pall Corporation were combined with the support of matching programsandcustomers. The result will be funding over three years’ worth of breast cancer research.

Myra J. Biblowit, President and CEO of BCRF, said: “We’re delighted with the energy and enthusiasm from Cytiva to support lifesaving breast cancer research. This devastating illness, which strikes one in eight women, has not rested even while the world’s focus is on the COVID pandemic. During our fourth year with Cytiva, we’re especially grateful for their continued support during one of the most challenging years in research faced by breast cancer scientists.”

BCRF is the largest private funder of breast cancer research worldwide.

Cytiva associates held cooking classes, comedy nights, fitness competitions and events, and online lectures with world-renowned lecturers such as Dr. Margaret Flowers from BCRF and Dr. Dawn Hershman from Columbia University. Cytiva’s own associates coordinated three separate Mammography trucks, one in October and two of which will happen in December, where dozens of women received or will receive a mammogram that would have otherwise been delayed or missed, due to COVID restrictions.
