Cytiva campaign donates $402 502 for breast cancer research

By Cytiva

Cytiva’s breast cancer awareness and fundraising campaign for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) raised $402 502, which translates into approximately 8050 hours of critical breast cancer research. Pall Life Sciences, Pall Industrial, Mammotome, Hach, and Danaher joined Cytiva in fundraising activities that contributed to the total amount.

In the spirit of giving back, every dollar donated will go to BCRF, the largest nonprofit funder of breast cancer research in the world. Since 1993, BCRF researchers have played a role in every major breast cancer advance. This year’s donation helps finance BCRF’s Evelyn H. Lauder Founder’s Fund for Metastatic Breast Cancer Research — the first and largest global effort to study metastatic breast cancer.

October’s drive marks Cytiva’s fifth year teaming up with BCRF. Myra Biblowit, BCRF President and CEO, shares her thoughts on the collaboration to help treat cancer’s most common form: “As we reflect on another remarkable Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to share my sincerest thanks for Cytiva’s continued dedication to BCRF and our vital mission. We are so grateful for your outstanding leadership, which has no doubt inspired Cytiva employees and customers to stand with BCRF. Your tremendous efforts to increase engagement across the Danaher family and grow the program so significantly this year are deeply appreciated and impactful. Together, we are changing the future and saving lives.”

The fundraising effort aligns with Cytiva’s vision of a world where access to life-changing therapies transforms human health. Liz Kasberg, Cytiva’s former Global Commercial Leader and champion for the cause, says: "Our breast cancer awareness and fundraising campaign is as much about who we are as what we do. We are a community that shows up—for our customers, for our families and friends, for our colleagues, and for our community. I am so proud of our work to change the future of breast cancer research.”

Giving activities around the world

Associates stepped up to spur donations. They organized: trivia contests, city tours, 5K runs, wine tastings, cooking lessons, golf tournaments, yoga classes, lunchtime music quizzes, and mobile mammogram screenings. These are just a few of their imaginative virtual and on-site efforts to help further advances for a cure.
